Dr. Frank Lo

Dr. Lo passed away at the age of 86, leaving behind a legacy in Prince George and throughout Northern BC.  He was one of eight children, the only one to emigrate to Canada from Hong Kong.   Dr Lo, started his dental career in Northern BC in 1966, one of a few dentists in the region at the time.  In the early 1970’s he founded the Lakewood Dental Group.

Dr. Lo did not start off as an orthodontist, instead he offered to cover the costs for any of the dentists at Lakewood willing to retrain to become the facility’s orthodontic specialist.   Since there were no takers, Dr. Lo decided to go himself.  He earned distinction of being the oldest student in the orthodontic program at Western University in London, Ontario.

Returning in 1986, Dr. Lo established himself as one of the first orthodontists in the city, founding what is known today as Lo and Elliott Orthodontics.  His daughter Dr. Francine Lo and her husband Robert joined the practice in 1997.

Dr. Lo gave generously to help those who couldn’t afford dental work and helped create the CNC Dental Hygiene Program.  The CAO extends its condolences to the Lo and Elliott families on his passing.
