Gentle Reminder about Patient Transfers
In recent months, the CAO office has received several calls from both members and the public questioning the transfer process between orthodontists. Specifically, the confusion arises from incomplete financial information on the Patient Transfer Form or insufficient prepaid monies being transferred.
The CAO strongly recommends that if a patient is transferring out of your practice, please be considerate to the patient and new orthodontist regarding the financials involved. Also, please indicate all the financial information clearly on the transfer form.
The CAO Patient Transfer Form is available to orthodontists and staff on the CAO Members Only Website under the “Resources” section. Staff must use the generic staff login information found on your membership receipt.
